Comments: I was a ESM tech, worked for Jack (E-Z) Faris and with H. H. (hotwaternobber) Watanabe (who had more time as a 1rst class ET(ss) than anyone in the history of the USN), Robert A. (stumper) Stump, Bobby Brown, Steve (insane) Sanner, Tommy (little Tommy) Coyle, Tim Plumb, two naviguessers LCDR (Flaky)Gentile, and LCDR (Reese has gone nuts) Reese. Nav ET's were Vic (Vic Vic the derelik) Decarlo, Michael Ray (Michael Vicscogin) Herrin, Vincent Vincenti, Tim Valenta. Man I'm laughing right now remembering you guys.
I can't belive Lucero is a doctor, probably a gynecologist.
I remember we called the ST's snivel techs because they were always sniveling about something when they weren't wasting water in the shower. Ensign (pigs in space) Link. CO captain Lackowitz.
Great web-site, neat memories. I would like to hear from any of the above, Walter Fitzsimmons, Travelin Don Parker, and all other shipmates. God Bless.

Comments: The Puffer was my first and only submarine after serving there I did the rest of my time in Bangor,Washington on shore duty. Discharged in the summer of 1987 from there. I went to sea on cruise ships, tugs and finally on factory fishing trawlers in Alaska,Russia and Africa. Presently serving as Port Engineer/maintenance manager for a tourist submarine company building the latest submersible in Seattle. Would like to hear from any of the gang that served onboard the Puffer during my time there.
Comments: Based out of Seattle, WA give me a shout if you get the chance.

Message: I was one of the ST's (snivel techs, shower techs) assigned to the best submarine in the Pacific fleet. I remember most of the guys, Alvin Cooley, Dan Campbell, Dan Kreiger, Ceasar Hernandez, Bangman, Avilla and Al Ando. I retired as a Senior Chief in '98 and now I think of the great times we had on the Puffer. We did some incredible West Pacs because we were the best crew in the submarine fleet. If you get a chance email me.

Comments: Was amazed to find a page for Puffer (got the idea to check when looking up my dad's ship). Just as amazed to see any names I remember...Nick the Nuke, Geiger, Muldoon, Hansen, Oleg. Ahh...talk about bringing back memories. The food (monkey-on -a-stick in PI), the fun (port and re-port duty), the intrigue (NIS investigation of bottle of vodka in the feed pump rigging locker in AMR2LL). It all seems like a lifetime ago.

Comments: so, are o's allowed to sign in? a brief visit to the blueback and recent stay at bangor brought back some, well, interesting memories. didn't make it down to the old delta pier (cdr pegram, usnr, has been working there for a while and lcdr lunifeld, usnr, works at the naval shipyard). would have been fun to go to the decommissioning but didn't quite make it. gotta wander up sometime and take a look. i hear that part of the puffer is now on display in a park in seattle.
cheers

I am at Arizona State now, so, if any of you clowns are in the area, drop a line (602)774-0288 -----Robes
